Stonewall Window

Grab me by the waist
throw me to the cenote floor
swelter within walls of stone
old ruins echo the encore

Will my mouth hide what I lack?
Guess we will never tell
If we’re as free as we want to be
why make a living in a cell?

Wanting to be needed
Packing salt sets on your chest
Needing to be wanted
Don’t let it cure in the sun’s caress

You’re somewhere in warm light
I’m somewhere in my head
submerged in cenote celos
strange swollen stumble to the bed

Water keeps its secrets
I’m choking on its board
Maybe I am the devil—
I cannot pray to the Lord

Cos I don’t want your freedom
I want to make you shake
I want the tide to turn
Some things aren’t meant to break

Wanting to be needed
A lick of salt rests on your chest
Needing to be wanted
There’s a cure in her caress
